Herodotus travelled the Persian Empire 5th Century BC. Hellyer explored NW Tasmania in the 1820s.

The class will consider the Who? How? When? Where? What? and Why? of discovery; from Antiquity to the present.

Names include Marco Polo, Columbus, Da Gama, Magellan, Pisarro, Cook, La Perouse, Burton & Speke, Lewis & Clark, Burke & Wills, Aurel Stein, Hudson, Hondius, Amundsen and Hillary.

Snow’s presentations will be enhanced by numerous illustrations copied from his reference library.
